When you set

   res.cnLevelSelectionMode = "ManualLevels"

You must also set

   res.cnMinLevelValF = .... ; set min contour level
   res.cnMaxLevelValF = .... ; set max contour level
   res.cnLevelSpacingF = .... ; set contour spacing
