Hi Mary,

Thanks for your response. I'll inform you about the Cygwin and gcc versions
tomorrow, as my laptop is at home. However, if it is relevant, I previously
installed NCL on the same laptop, and have been using that with no problem.
Does it mean that PyNGL should also work under the versions of Cygwin and
gcc that I have?

I am unfortunately not familiar with running Python under Cygwin, so
I'm hoping somebody else can jump in here.

But, we can start by making sure other aspects of the environment are
the same, like the version of Cygwin (CYGWIN_NT-5.0) and the version
of gcc (3.3.3).

Is this what you are running?
