python2.7 binaries?

Mary et al.:

are there python2.7 binaries coming for systems in the near future? I can use an older version of EPD (v7 is py2.7), but since 2.7 is "it" for python < 3, as far as I know, I was wondering what the plan was, or if there was a plan.

I need 32/64 for Mac, and x86_64 for SuSE/RedHat
