Hi Mary,

Thanks for the download info. I decided to give it a try, but still no joy. Here is what I tried:

unpacked the tarball.

then in the python interperter:

>>> sys.path.append('/lib/python2.6/site-packages/PyNIO')
>>> import Nio
RuntimeError: FATAL: module compiled aslittle endian, but detected different endianness at runtime
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
  File "/contrib/ncl-5.2.0/external/lib/python2.6/site-packages/PyNIO/Nio.py", line 61, in <module>
    from nio import *
ImportError: numpy.core.multiarray failed to import

So I am not sure which way to go??

Ideas?

Thanks again
