I just installed the latest Scientific Linux and applied all updates and
patches. It's running 2.6.6. I'm not inclined to run real bleeding edge
releases. Going to 2.7 would mean I'm not going to be able to use tthe
SL package management (Yum) and would mean that I'd not be following our
normal software practices.
