A week ago I wrote to the list reporting a program hang in the skewT
plotting routines.
I thought it was due to the large number of points in the sounding -
this was not true - as Fred Clare proved.
Just today I got another hang - the sounding only had 40 levels.
The problem was units - my sounding had : pressure = Pa, Temp = K, q
= g/kg, dewpoint = K
skewT wanted : pressure = mb, Temp,dewpoint =C
I can fully understand why the calculations would go screwy - my only
point is that a hang is not good.
I guess some additional parameter checking would avoid this problem.
My code now does this checking, but it would be helpful to have it
built in for the unwary.
