Numeric versus NumPy - a quick poll

Hi all,

Back in January we sent a short survey asking who was still using
Numeric and who had made the switch to NumPy. It was about half and
half at that time, with those that hadn't switched saying they were
planning to.

Now that NumPy has been officially released for almost a year, we'd
like to ask the question again. We are thinking about dropping
support for Numeric for our next release (probably in Oct/Nov --- it
will be open source and have some new functionality), and are
wondering if this will adversely affect anybody.

We are also eyeing the work on the new "maskedarray" module and hope
to have some support for this, but we have no guarantees just yet.

So, Numeric or NumPy?
