Nio.open_file hangs if too few grid points in GRIB1

Hello fellow PyNGLers,

the encountered problem is described in the subject. Here are the GRIB1
files for testing:

http://www.pa.op.dlr.de/~WenchiehYen/tmp/lfff00150000.crop_5x5.grb
http://www.pa.op.dlr.de/~WenchiehYen/tmp/lfff00150000.crop_4x4.grb

The former has 25 (5x5) grid points in a rotated lat-lon grid and Nio
works fine with it. The latter will lead to system hang and Nio (python)
drives the cpu usage to 100%. It contains only 4x4 grid points.

Both GRIB1 files are originated from the German Weather Service (DWD).

I am running PyNGL 1.1.0, numpy 1.0.1 with python 2.4.3 on Mac PPC and
Linux.

More info about these GRIB files can be provided if the PyNGL developers
would need it.

have a nice weekend!
