Hi All,

We are in the throes of testing PyNGL and PyNIO with both numpy and
Numeric, and wrestling with the support of numpy has us kept us from
getting this version out sooner.

Our testing has gone well on several systems: Sun, Macs
(powerbook and intel), SGI (couldn't get numpy built though),
IBM/AIX, and Linux (32bit and x86_64). We are looking into a possible
problem with 64-bit issues on the Linux machine, but other than that,
we are good to go.

If anybody wants to test a Numeric or numpy version of PyNGL/PyNIO
(version 1.0.0), let me know and I'll provide you with a precompiled
binary.

PyNGL and PyNIO were built with Python 2.4.3, Numeric 24.2, and numpy
0.9.8. numpy is still somewhat of a moving target, so we can't
guarantee that if you have an older or newer version of numpy, it will
work. We are very interested in hearing about compatibility issues,
however!

Email me if you want to test this new version, and then we hope to put
it out on the web by the end of this week.
